THE SHIP INN

The Original Inn on the beach

The Original Inn on the beach. This iconic coastal inn in Mundesley dates back 300 years, making it one of the oldest drinking dens in Norfolk.

Today, it's a buzzing beachside restaurant with rooms, where you can say “cheers”, check in and chill out.

As well as a thriving restaurant, The Ship Inn is home to The Catch, a gorgeously gourmet fish and chip takeaway. From the seaside interior to the gastro pub classics you’ll find on the menu, every nook has been lovingly tailored to deliver the kind of coastal retreat you dream of.

Chippy dinner on the beach

The Catch at The Ship Inn is a gourmet seaside kitchen where this classic British favourite is available to takeaway from noon till night. The fish is fantastically fresh and the secret recipe batter is the lightest you'll find for a delicious chippy dinner on the beach.

The Ship's signature side dish

Gammon steak and chips is one of the most popular dishes at The Ship's beachside restaurant – and with good reason. It's served with its signature side dish: a duo of battered poached eggs in light, crisp batter.

STAY THE NIGHT

in bright and beachy decadence

Decked out in nautical hues, each of The Ships seven boutique rooms have been thoughtfully designed to create a truly immersive seaside stay. From the rustic driftwood feature walls in the very affordable Cosy Doubles, to the Deluxe Sea View rooms with their spacious beach-chic interiors, you’ll be sure to anchor down and slumber in style.

So much more than a beachside inn that just ‘tolerates’ dogs, its restaurant, rooms and bar area are 100% woof-approved. The team at The Ship Inn invite your pooch to stay, dine and make themselves at home.

Discover the

NEIGHBOURHOOD

North Norfolk has miles of winding coastline waiting to be explored. From sand dunes to clifftops, this area has it all. The coastline is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it one of the UK's most cherished landscapes. The AONB covers 56 miles of coastline and includes Hunstanton, Wells-next-the-Sea, Blakeney, Sheringham, Cromer and Mundesley.

One of the biggest draws is perhaps the famous seal colony at Blakeney Point. There are around 500 common and grey seals around the harbour. Visit in the summer months or late winter to see the pups.
